The Chair of Entrepreneurship and Accountancy

The Chair of Entrepreneurship and Accountancy is a structural unit that holds the following curricula:

  • Accountancy
  • Business Administration
  • Business Management
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Sales Management
  • Commercial Economy
  • Secretarial Work
  • Assistant Manager
  • Software Design
  • Management of Business Information Systems

The Chair follows the ideas of the following documents: Institutions of Professional Higher Education Act, the Statutes of the College, the Statutes of the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Accountancy and other legislative acts, and carries out the Development Plan of the College and the Chair.

The tasks of the chair:

  • conducting and management of studies according to the curricula and the quality standards;
  • development of curricular and specialties, e.g. creation of competence based vocational curricula;
  • curricula marketing;
  • conducting continuing education, counselling;
  • providing the lecturers of the chair with the training possibilities;
  • creation and implementation of the development plan of the chair;
  • providing the employees of the chair with modern work environment;
  • carrying out applied research in the following areas: management (incl. HR management and  financial management), commerce and service, accountancy, entrepreneurship (incl. marketing) and information technology;
  • participation in the following programmes: Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Interreg and Nordplus;
  • cooperation with employers and enterprises for conducting applied research, student internships and academic staff on-the-job trainings: (Rakvere Haigla, Rimi Food Eesti AS, Rakvere Põhjakeskus, Bauhof Group AS, Jeld-Wen Eesti AS etc.);
  • cooperation with trade and professional associations: (The Estonian Association of Accountants, The Association of Teachers of Accounting, Estonian Association of Teachers of Economics, Estonian Traders Association);
  • organising regional events, seminars and public lectures.
